Q&A with Luca Teles – Business Development Executive

Explain your journey at SciLeads so far.

I joined SciLeads in 2023 as an SDR with zero background in SaaS or tech sales, and it’s been an incredible journey of growth ever since. Over the past two years, I’ve gained valuable industry knowledge and made significant progress in my sales career. The transition from SDR to Business Development Executive has been both challenging and rewarding, filled with continuous learning and growth. All while maintaining a fun and engaging work environment. It’s been a truly incredible experience, both professionally and personally.

How has the Sales Development Pathway supported your growth and development?

The Sales Development Pathway at SciLeads has been instrumental in my career progression. From day one, it lays out a clear roadmap of the various opportunities available and what’s required to advance. At every stage, the support from the team has been outstanding, equipping you with the tools, training, and confidence needed to succeed. Having a transparent progression structure gives you a strong sense of direction and motivation to grow.

What has kept you engaged and motivated at SciLeads over the years?

What continues to motivate me is the dual growth opportunity both within my personal career and as part of a rapidly expanding company. Being part of an organization that’s scaling quickly while offering space for individual advancement makes it exciting to come to work each day and push for the next level.

Can you share a memorable moment or a proud achievement during your time here?

One of the moments I’m most proud of was hitting 236% of target in my first quarter as a Business Development Executive. That milestone not only gave me a sense of personal accomplishment but also reinforced how supportive and driven the SciLeads team truly is. It felt amazing to celebrate that win with such an encouraging group behind me.

What does your role as a Business Development Executive involve, and what do you enjoy most about it?

In my role, I connect daily with prospective clients to help them understand how SciLeads can support their organizational growth. It’s fulfilling to be a part of their journey, helping them achieve their sales and revenue goals through our platform. I genuinely enjoy the conversations I have and the relationships I build every day.

How has SciLeads’ flexible working environment impacted your day-to-day life?

The flexible work environment at SciLeads is exceptional. Having the autonomy to manage my own schedule has been a game changer, it gives me the freedom to balance professional responsibilities with personal needs, whether that’s scheduling a doctor’s appointment or fitting in a workout. It’s a level of flexibility that makes a real difference in daily life.

What excites you most about the future of SciLeads and your role in it?

What excites me most about SciLeads’ future is the continued evolution of our product. We have an incredibly talented team driving innovation, and it’s exciting to see the platform grow stronger every day. Having the opportunity to showcase this ever-improving product to new prospects is something I truly look forward to.

What advice would you give to someone considering a role at SciLeads, especially in Sales Development?

If you’re considering a role at SciLeads, especially in Sales Development, my advice would be: the opportunity here is what you make of it. If you come in with the right mindset, work ethic, and a willingness to learn, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.
