Q&A with Izabela Orczykowska, Senior SDR

What attracted you to SciLeads, and what keeps you here?

What attracted me to SciLeads was the clear career pathway from the very beginning. Even from the job description, it was obvious that there’s a structured route for growth and promotion. It also stood out that SciLeads genuinely values work-life balance and treats people as individuals rather than just numbers. That’s something I’ve continued to experience since joining, and it’s a big part of what keeps me here.

How did you find the interview process at SciLeads?

I found the interview process really smooth, clear, and timely. I heard back very quickly after my interview, which made a big difference. Lule was also very communicative throughout the entire process, from the initial recruiter call through to the final decision, which made the whole experience feel straightforward and positive.

How has the Sales Development Pathway supported your growth and development?

My managers have been really supportive in helping me build my skills day to day, whether that’s through feedback, coaching, or just being available when I need guidance. It definitely feels like there’s a clear direction for progression, and I feel supported working towards that next step.

What do you enjoy the most about your role as a Senior Sales Development Representative?

I’d definitely say calling is my favourite part of the job. It’s where I’ve seen the most growth in my communication and people skills, and I enjoy the fast pace of it. Being able to jump on calls and then get immediate feedback from my managers is something I really value, as it means I feel constantly supported and able to improve.

I also have to mention the team; that’s a big part of what I enjoy. The SDR team is really fun and supportive, and we’re always in touch through daily stand-ups. Even though we’re fully remote, there’s a real sense of community, which makes a big difference day to day.

How has the flexible work environment at SciLeads helped you?

The flexible work environment has genuinely helped me a lot. It allows me to work during the times when I feel most productive, which for me is often later in the day. Being able to structure my day around that means I can break things up into more productive chunks, rather than sticking to a strict nine-to-five. Overall, it’s made me more productive and has also helped me avoid burnout, as I’m able to work in a way that suits me best.

What advice would you give to someone considering a role at SciLeads, especially in Sales Development?

My advice would be to take it one day at a time. Sales naturally has its ups and downs, and that’s completely normal. What really sets people apart is being able to push through the tougher periods, not just the good ones. It’s also important not to get overwhelmed by the bigger picture. Focusing on your day-to-day progress makes everything much more manageable. The leadership at SciLeads is really strong, so definitely lean on your managers when you need support.
